Our most honoured guest at New Year came bearing an arm load of cakes from Laduree, including this one called the Marie Antoinette. Merci beaucoup! Happy New Year to all - looking forward to an Olympic 2012!
You cannot eat that. It is a work of art. But if you are so greedy we all expect you to give a mouth by mouthful account. Or have you gorged it already? From a Wind Tossed Portinari who wishes you and all a most Happy New Year.
Presumably from Burlington Arcade rather than the Faubourg St.Honore ? Or, have they developed a marvellous way of transporting cakes on the Eurostar ?
Happy New Year, Portinari! The actual cake was a smaller version of the photo, in pistachio green. Delicious marzipan covering chocolate sponge, chocolate cream filling and a sliver of caramel wafer. Best cake I've had all year!
Bien sur, Angus!
No way, Ellee! Happy New Year to you and your family!

I would prefer an apple, and it looks too pretty to cut.
Happy New Year to you too, and wishing you success and good health for 2012.
