Puerto Princesa Underground River

My man in Manila is very excited that the Puerto Princesa Underground River has been awarded the title "One of the New 7 Wonders of Nature". If you're going to the Philippines, the flight from Manila to Puerto Princesa takes 45 minutes. You then have to drive for two hours to Palawan, travel by boat for half an hour and then take a 40 minute smaller boat trip into the underground river. He assures me it's worth it.

Do the old wonders still count then? I thought there are already so called 7 wonders, and most countries are claiming 8th wonder in their own countries.....

I'm just a little bit confused.....

At the risk of arousing Manilan ire, I have been into lots of these things, including Padirac, as I had a daughter who is mad on them. My view is that I really couldn't take another one - though I daresay she is already planning her trip!

It must be very special if it is one of the new 7 wonders of the world. I wonder what the other 6 are.
