Menu of the day

My friend's choices would certainly not have been mine:

Deep-fried monkfish (which was purplish-black in appearance)

Devilled kidneys (hate offal)

Irish rarebit (looked Welsh to me but he assured me it was laced with Guinness)

Hmmm well I adore devilled kidneys - deep fried monkfish - average. Welsh rarebit - shame to use good cheese like this!

Greeting KL - i thought the point of Welsh Rarebit was to make stale cheese palatable?

Been out of touch for a bit - Trieste, Aquilea and Venice but not for THE wedding. Now to the matter in hand - Kidneys. Next time you are this way I will prepare, inter alia, a dish of rognons (try that as a word and you might not shudder!). Done with a fino and parsley - delicioso. Had 'fegato a la Veneziana' the other day. Good to superb.
