Religious landscapes

I met a travel memorabilia specialist who works at Sotheby's. He told be there's great demand for old photos and paintings of Mecca and Medina. Many of the old sites at these places have been destroyed by Wahhabists so they have changed dramatically. He sold six old photos of Medina for £1.2m recently. Arabs are buying their heritage. I don't suppose there are any paintings of the interior of Winchester Cathedral before Henry VIII or pre-Cromwell.

How does it feel to be an 'outlaw' in the 'Wild West' ? Oh, well the 'baddies' were always more sexy in the Westerns...

As a TV-free person, does anyone care to enlighten me about the current furore over Fiona 'knickers made of mistletoe' Bruce taking over Antiques Roadshow ??

I would have said they might have a bit more of a point if the format had changed altogether, and a twenty something was involved. That said seeing the fragrant Jane Asher in the paper today does at least confirm that one doesn't have to be under thirty to distract us men from the subject matter at hand..

I'll have to ask my husband to look out for these at auctions he attends.
