My dear English friend, artistic Trudy, is now living in LA and I thought she may get on well with the lovely Rachel, an American friend of a friend with whom I stayed on a brief visit there a decade ago. Trudy called her and Rachel suggested meeting that evening, not admitting that she wasn't the Rachel whom Trudy was seeking. As it turned out, "my" Rachel's old mobile phone number is now owned by an unknown (to us) Rachel who happens to be interested in art and who wanted to meet a complete stranger. How weird is that?

I think that's absolutely brilliant! MUCH more interesting that the dinner party round.....
More questions than answers. How did they get on ? Did Rachel #2 admit she had no idea who she was meeting ? Did Trudy take a gun ? What happened to Rachel #1? Only in LA.
Trudy says Rachel 2 is a bit "ditsy" but very open and friendly and she admitted when they met that in fact she's called Barbara! Trudy was defenceless as she believed she was meeting Rachel 1. Anyway they met at a gallery opening and got on quite well!
Very weird but interesting!
These incidents don't always end well. Especially in David Lynch's world.
Well Rachel 2 being a Barbara is pretty OK. I recently met a Rachel who turned out to be a George... VERY disconcerting

In China.....As you know they all use Anglo names ( one of my favourite contacts is Jane Russell) and this one was called Rachel Bo. Except it was George...
